THE BUZZ Profile

The Buzz refreshingly lively, funky and soulful act, has earned them a strong reputation as one of the UK’s top function bands. With a repertoire that covers most genres, the band are flexible enough to perform up to three hours of floor-filling covers ranging from Abba, Blues Brothers, Beatles and the Rolling Stones, through to Duffy, Amy Winehouse, Coldplay, The Killers & The Kings of Leon.
Their laid-back yet professional approach to the gigs they do, means that they are constantly being asked back and referred by former clients. Their fantastic rapport with clients, and willingness to get everyone involved, has resulted in constant bookings, all by recommendation.

Having played at many functions and corporate events, including the Park Lane Sheraton, Café Royal - Piccadilly, Grovesnor House Hotel - Park Lane, Blenheim Palace and London’s Dorchester Hotel, as well as some of the UK's top live music venues, The are ideal for any occasion. They have twice performed at the prestigious Sargent Cancer Care for Children’s Chocolate Ball, playing along with celebrities Mike Reid, Razor Ruddock and Lord Brocket, on their single Jungle Rock - to the delight of over 400 guests at the ball. Other charity and corporate clients include the BBC, Royal Air Force, MVM Ltd, Upstage Events, Universal Pictures, The Stroke Association, Sea Containers Ltd., ING Real Estate and many more.

The 6 piece band consists of Lead Vocals, Guitar, Bass Guitar, Drums & horn section, with all band member’s singing backing parts and percussion where required. This gives huge flexibility in repertoire, meaning that the band really can adapt to virtually any situation.

First of all a huge thank you for organising the Buzz Lightweights for our wedding, we choose the band on your recommendation and from the comments on your website. They proved to be all and more than we would have wanted, playing a great mix of tunes, that got all the older generation on the dance floor to start with and moved into some more recent tunes that ensured that our pretty sizeable dance-floor was absolutely packed. The images of all our friends bouncing around on the dance floor having so much fun are truly memorable. I wanted to write immediately after our wedding to thank you and the band, it absolutely made our day, they were just incredible and gave our wedding the most amazing festival like buzz, the dance floor was rammed with an age range of 2 - 85 ALL night!!!!!! Everytime I thought I might pass out I'd danced so much they launched into yet another brilliant song. One of the reasons we chose them was because one of the testimonials said `I danced so much I split my trousers' that clinched it for us and quite funny as the bride I honestly danced so much I danced my dress off! I had to get changed half way through as I ripped my dress! At one point I looked back at the marquee and it was absolutely empty as everyone was crammed onto the dancefloor rocking away. They even wore the bright pink wigs for us which was awesome and provided a lot of entertainment as they got hurled around the dance floor. They put up with some of our over excited mates getting up on stage, singing, playing maracaas and even a bit of a striptease... I hear that the party continued way after we left and that's all thanks to the fantastic music and so kind of the DJ to stay so late. The band and DJ really looked like they were having a laugh too which really set the tone. Without fail everyone has mentioned how fantastic the band were from our wedding, it really made it for us and I'll never forget the feeling of Dan and I surrounded by all our closest mates going completely crazy on the dance floor. Please pass on our huge thanks for making our day so special to the band and DJ - they rock!
