THE MARYLEBONE TRIO Guide to fee £540
THE MARYLEBONE TRIO Profile
The Marylebone Trio, is a classical woodwind trio formed in 2003 by postgraduate students at the Royal Academy of Music. Since then the trio has given a large number of recitals to appreciative audiences around the UK, including appearances at music festivals in Deal, Warwick and Stratford-upon-Avon; numerous music societies; recital series at the National Portrait Gallery, Quay Arts (Isle of Wight), Brighton College, Cambridge University and UCL and are often invited back to give further performances. The trio recently reached the finals of the Tunnell Trust chamber music competition. The Marylebone trio has performed recitals on board cruise ships, travelling to countries including Australia, Hong Kong, Norway and Russia. They also provide music for weddings and corporate events and have played at a garden party in the presence of HRH Prince Edward, the Dorchester Hotel for a masquerade ball and in the unusual setting of Marylebone Station for the launch of a new Chiltern Railways service.
The Marylebone Trio is keen on education work and has held several children's workshops and concerts as well as running its own chamber music course for the last three summers. The trio's repertoire is wide and varied, including music by Mozart and Beethoven, several gems from 20th-Century France, Britain and Eastern Europe, many of which are inspired by folk songs. The trio are constantly expanding their repertoire, and in 2009, commissioned two young British composers to fashion contemporary responses to Eastern European folksong
Their orchestral work includes the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic, London Concert Orchestra, English Chamber Opera, Dartington festival Orchestra, London Symphony Orchestra and Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.
Highlights:
- Playing at a function attended by HRH Prince Edward
