Profile

Morning Star was started in 2006 by friends who had played together for several years in various musical combinations. Featuring a mixture of guitar, fiddle, bass, whistle, mandolin and piano with excellent singers, the band has a core of some of the best musicians in the South East.

The band always aim to provide a fun, party ceilidh atmosphere and have an amazing caller to guide and show people how and where to dance!...the key to getting everyone involved and dancing.

Morning Star also perform Irish songs and tunes, (their material includes some Scottish and Country music too), in styles ranging from a delicate melody to a storming sound, with excellent singers and trained top line players.

Punctual and professional, and bringing a great fun atmosphere to any party, Morning Star are the ideal band to play in a variety of settings: dance hall, garden, living room and ball room.

" We had seen Morning Star play at a family wedding, so we knew they were going to be good, but we had forgotten just how great they are! Every guest talked about how much they enjoyed the music and dancing. Morning Star are also a pleasure to deal with and the booking process through Gigz Management was very smooth and simple. We wholeheartedly recommend Morning Star and Gigz Management. "

" We booked morning star to play at our wedding this August. We cannot praise them enough. Our guest were half Irish and half English so the band put together a set that included traditional irish songs and ceighli songs with a caller. Everyone took to the dance floor as soon as the band started up and didnt leave until they finished their set. We all had a great night and we have been asked for the bands name a number of times. "

" Just a quick email to say a huge thank you to the band for the excellent performance at our wedding. They had a 200 strong crowd up and dancing right from the start of the evening and long into the night! Their input really made the party and we’ve had great comments from all our guests about how much they enjoyed the band and the night all around. We’d definitely book these guys again in the future. Also please feel free to quote us as a review/reference – the least we could do in return for a fantastic evening! "
