PROFILE

Ska Wars are an established 7 piece Ska band made up of a young bunch of fun loving lads who's energy knows no bounds. Ska Wars have been playing the national circuit for over 5 years and made occasional trips to the continent to show our European friends a good time.

Previous festival gigs include Guilfest Main Stage 2002, Leeds Millenium square 2001, Bradford festival 2001-2003, Portsmouth festival 2002, dartford festival 2002-2004, Bedford festival 2004 and many many more. With a charismatic frontman, full horn section and the tightest rhythm section in the land, Ska Wars never fail to get the audience up and moving to the 2-tone classics of the Specials, Madness, Bad Manners and the Selector. Ska Wars also pay homage to the birth of Ska with tracks by Toots and the Maytals, Desmond Dekker and the Upsetters included in the set.

Ska Wars have supported acts including… The Fun Loving Criminals, The Selecter, The Beat, Jools Holland and many more Ska Wars.
The band was also voted 10th best unsigned band in England by Kerrang Magazine 2004!

WHAT PREVIOUS CLIENTS SAY...

Having booked quite a few bands for parties over the years they were the best we have ever had.Their enthusiasm and great music ensured a full dance floor from the first song until they finished 2 hours later. They provided perfect music for a diverse group of 30-50 year olds dressed as large insects! We have dozens of thank you letters all praising the ‘great band’I would heartily recommend them to anyone organizing a party and wanting to get something that provides a whole lot more raucous fun than the ubiquitous bespangled cool funk on offer elsewhere. To top it all they were all extremely nice people!

Could you please thank all the guys for a wonderful night. Music is all about passion and enthusiasm and you lot had it in bucket loads, and it really comes across .Everyone commented how good you all were and it wouldn't surprise Me if you pick up a few more bookings from the people who where there.Hope you all enjoyed it and hope to see you again sometime. All the best

There's nothing like a good bit of ska to get a festival started, and main-stage openers Ska Wars really know what a good bit of ska is. Resplendent in two-tone and a kilt no less (on Trumpet Player Nick Horne), Ska Wars look the part as well as sounding it.
Once we'd got the expected nod to Lucasfilm (well what would expect from Skarth Vader and Ska-2-d-2?) Ska Wars really took off. Good old school ska with all the trimmings (the influence of Madness and The Specials shining through), which was performed quite frankly masterfully. I couldn't see a person within 100 yards not skanking.
After a blinding set, front man Bobba Fat left the stage after addressing the crowd pontifical style: "bless you, bless you", and went to a galaxy far, far away.

They were really brilliant. The whole place went mad when they launched into Too much to young and they kept it like that right until the end. It was a great party and most of it was down to the band.
Thanks!

General Information

Guide to fee

The guide to fee is an approximate quote, as factors such as location, set-up time, time of year, day of week etc can affect the price.

Travel Expenses

Travel expenses are added to our acts base fee and are calculated by the distance from their home postcode to the venue postcode location.

The costings are as follows;

First 25 miles - free
26-50 miles - add £65
51-75 miles - add £125
76 to 99 miles - add £190
110 miles and above - price on application (accommodation will generally expected, or an additional driver's fee charge)

Set up and packing away times

Prices for evening performances are based on the acts arriving at the venue for 6.00 pm and the performance finishing at midnight. Earlier set-up times and later finish times are usually possible but may incur an additional charge.

Food

With travelling to the venue, set up time, performance time, pack down and the return journey, our acts are generally on the go for a minimum of 10 hours on the day of the performance. For this reason a hot meal is requested for each member of the booked act before the performance.

Electrical/Power Requirements

Generally, access to 3 separate 13amp sockets on stage will suffice. None of our acts will use more than 4000 Watts (This is a total of 4K) of power (including lighting), unless otherwise indicated.

Contracts and deposits

Once terms have been agreed we will e-mail you a booking contract and invoices. You will then need to print off and sign a copy of the contract and return it to Gigz Management, 38 Ashford Road, Brighton, BN1 6LJ. A booking deposit is required on return of the signed booking contract. The remaining outstanding balance payment will be due three weeks before your event date. The quickest, easiest and safest way to make payments is by online transfer into the account detailed on the Gigz Management invoices.

To ensure that everything runs smoothly on the day we like to gather as much information as we can on your event (including timings, directions, special requests, etc). In order to do this we ask that you complete a secure online information form. The secure link to this form is sent to the client once the booking has been confirmed.
